Faced with years of consecutive share loss from its nasal decongestant brand, Otrivin, Novartis Consumer Healthcare was keen to shift gears and penetrate the Saline category. Although growing explosively, the segment was populated with established competitors, each with a unique point of differentiation.

To translate decades of medicated nasal leadership into credibility and differentiation in a non-medicated space, Reset branded ‘Otrivin Sea Water and Aloe’ to connect with consumers’ growing interest in natural alternatives. Using our insight of ‘a spa for your nose’ to guide our creative efforts, we devised the brand strategy and identity as well as the package and collateral design that successfully transitioned Otrivin into the natural product space.

Sales exceeded projections, leading to additional line extensions - and a dramatic increase in market share.
